High-quality Cuisine
We’re fussy about the food we serve and believe that every meal should be an occasion. We understand how important good quality, nutritious food is in supporting the health and well-being of older people.
Our House Manager serves two main meals a day to form a varied and balanced weekly menu and supplies residents with the basic ingredients enabling them to prepare their own breakfasts in their own rooms.
The two main meals are cooked in our own well-equipped, clean kitchen and to ensure freshness, we source locally produced fresh meat, fish, fruit and vegetables. We happily cater for special diets and food preferences.
The residents sit together in our family sized dining room and the House Manager joins them for lunch to create a warm, companionable atmosphere.
Friends and family are very welcome to join us for all meals, but particularly on big occasions and birthdays when we push the boat out, serving a special tea with cake, decorations and fun for all.

Every summer a Garden Party is held in Roundhay’s beautiful garden to which family and friends are warmly invited and in December we have a special Christmas Dinner for staff and residents in a local restaurant.

Health
Castle Gate is served by several local doctor’s surgeries or family doctors are able to visit the house if necessary.
We continue caring for our residents for as long as possible. Those whose needs increase may be able to obtain domiciliary care within our houses. However, we do not (and legally cannot) provide personal care. When the time comes that we are no longer able to look after a resident we will assist them and their family with the decisions that must be made.
